Hi I'm new why does sony Vegas not render my mp4 video properly it makes it a veg file so I can't upload it to you tube I use xsplit and elgato game capture and the original video will upload straight to you tube as it is mp4 but after editing it etc I save it to desktop and it says its now a veg file and yt does not recognise it any ideas?
I'm a Sony vegas pro 12 user myself, so have some experience here.
The .veg file is a project file, this is simply a file that you can load and it will place all the clips you have back into Vegas. This allows you to save your work, come back to it at a later date and edit it. I always keep .veg project files for every video I produce.
In order to render your file you want click "Render As" instead of "Save As". This will bring up a dialog box of settings that you can change around to change your final render. There's a ton of Youtube videos out there that will show you how to do this!
